AUTHORITIES HAVE ARRESTED THE FOURTH AND FINAL SUSPECT IN XXXTENTACION’S MURDER, TRAYVON NEWSOME

Fifty days after XXXTentacion‘s tragic death, the fourth and final suspect in the slain rapper’s murder case has been arrested.

Trayvon Newsome, 20, was taken into custody by the Broward Sheriff’s Office after he surrendered at his lawyer’s office in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 7). He’s currently incarcerated in Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail...
Newsome and three other suspects Robert Allen, Michael Boatwright and Dedrick Williams have all been charged with first-degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting of XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Onfroy. Newsome is also charged with robbery with a deadly weapon.

XXXTentacion was shot and killed in Deerfield Beach, Fla. on June 18 shortly after leaving RIVA Motorsports, where he was shopping for a motorcycle. The assailants apparently planned to rob X and waited for him outside of RIVA Motorsports, where they stopped his vehicle, shot him and then reportedly made off with a Louis Vuitton bag full of cash. This led authorities to believe the murder was the tragic result of a robbery gone wrong.

Dedrick Williams, 22, was the first to be arrested on June 21, just three days after X was killed. He has since pleaded not guilty, though authorities believe he was driving the vehicle that blocked X’s car so he couldn’t escape the RIVA Motorsports parking lot.

The second suspect and possible gunman is Michael Boatwright, who was arrested on July 11. He was already in custody for unrelated drug charges when Broward officials learned his connection to X’s death and served him with the warrant for first-degree murder. In the month since, it’s been revealed that there is some concern about his mental capacity, so experts have been appointed to meet with him to determine whether or not he is competent enough to stand trial.

Robert Allen managed to elude authorities for over a month before being discovered hiding out at his sister’s house in rural Georgia. He has since been extradited to Florida to face his charges. He has also pleaded not guilty to the charges against him in X’s murder.

All four are facing first-degree, premeditated murder. As the men are all in their early 20s and considered adults under Florida law, they could face the death penalty or life in prison.
