It started with a call to police after some people saw a boy who they thought was attempting suicide.
When police arrived, this is what they found. 100 and 500 Euro bills floating through the Danube River.
Police immediately brought in diver teams to help recover the bills.
I’d be extremely tempted to stash away some of these for myself.
In total they collected around 72,000 in Euros.
No one has come forward at this point to claim the money.
Police are now investigating where the money came from.
Because the boy who found it turned it into police, he is entitled to 5-10% of the value of the money.
If the money goes unclaimed for a year however, he could be entitled to the entire sum of cash!
This is dream scenario for so many people. The boy most likely could have kept the cash if observers hadn’t called the police. You have to worry about the bills being tracked though, and that could turn into a problem. This way, he is guaranteed something out of the deal. He may even get to keep the whole thing in the end. All for jumping into a river and grabbing some bills. This truly is a story you can tell your kids and your grand kids someday. They may even reap the benefits of the find someday through an inheritance.
