Ruggedman Receives His African Integrity Award.

While some Nigerian entertainers were receiving and celebrating their Headies awards, Ruggedman was honoured with a very special award...

The entertainer who just got back from Cross River State, where he kicked off the first edition of his 9 citiy PlayStation 4 virtual soccer competition "Rugged Premier League" received The African Integrity Prize for Integrity in Art.

African Integrity prize honours Africa's best, noble men and women, companies and institutions with exceptional integrity.

Ruggedman who some time ago was made a United Nations Peace Ambassador, has added this new feather to his cap courtesy of the African Child Foundation.

It is obvious there is more to Michael Ugochukwu Stephens than just entertainment.

He is one of the very few Nigerian entertainers, who go above and beyond being a celebrity to be a voice for the voiceless and is always giving back to the community.

Apart from revolutionising the Nigerian music/rap industry. Despite all the controversies. He is a humanitarian. He has a big heart. He is special.

Congratulations Ruggedman. Keep making a difference. We need more role models like you.

Africa Child Foundation past honourees are President Olusegun Obasanjo (Nigeria), General Yakubu Gowon (Head of State), President Uhuru Kenyatta (Kenya), President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (Liberia), President John Dramani Mahama (Ghana), President Paul Kagame (Rwanda), Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Prof Pat Utomi, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, RMD, I Go Die, Akopororo & other great personalities.

The dogmatic approach by Western media has pigeonholed Africa as a dark continent bedeviled with poverty, tribal anarchy, civil war, political instability, brazen corruption and lack of competent leadership which has turned the Continent to a " shittehole". Very little or nothing is reported of African men and women who have demonstrated high level of integrity in the perceived corrupt society.

African Integrity Prize (AIP) is a concept of the African Child Foundation to introduce a paradigm shift from corrupt tendencies to value for integrity. We believe that the sustained showcasing and promotion of integrity, merit based on excellence are the key drivers to continuous innovations and inventions by the people and organizations, towards economic progress and advancement of mankind.
