Wizkid drops video for Come Closer!

Today Wizkid dropped the much anticipated video for his single ‘Come Closer’. As everyone knows, the single features Drake, so we were all waiting to see if he would be in the video too. He isn’t...
But the American superstar and close friend of Wiz isn't required. Wiz has absolutely no trouble holding his own. He isn't called ‘Starboy’ for nothing! The video is kind of reminiscent of Drakes video for Cell Phone – taking place in one white room which, at moments, lights up in bright neon colours. This is probably a deliberate nod of the head to his friend.

But unlike the Drake vid, this one has "Africa” stamped across it in big letters. More specifically it celebrates African women; their clothing, style, attitude and beauty. Wiz is having a great time as the stunning dancers grind on him, climb on him, shake their asses and crawl around on the floor. They are all dressed immaculately in beautiful African clothes. And at certain points Wiz also has them wearing tribal make up. In contrast, his style is VERY American.

He’s decked out in designer gear (alternating almost entirely between black and white), expensive diamond chains, gold and diamond encrusted rings & shades. He flaunts his wealth for the camera leaving us in no doubt he is rich. He has made it. He is cool, sexy and handsome. And he knows it. And so do his army of female fans who are undoubtedly drooling as he beckons them to “come closer”.
