18th Annual Nigerian Arts, Culture and Music Festival to be Held in Atlanta, GA; 4,000 Attendees Expected; Festival will be dedicated to the #BringBackOurGirls Campaign


Atlanta, GA – 05.28.14 - The 18th, Annual Nigerian Arts, Culture and Music Festival is going to Atlanta, Georgia, Thursday July 3 through Sunday July 6th, 2014. the Nigerian Reunion Corporation (NRC), the four-day extravaganza will again feature the “best of the best” of what Nigeria has to offer in business/financial opportunities, cultural/historical richness, food, trends, entertainment and more. As in the past, the event will reconnect friends and professional associates, while celebrating the Nigerian Diaspora. The organizers will be dedicating this year’s festival as a special tribute to the #BringBackOurGirls Campaign, in support of the Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by the terrorist group Boko Haram and international efforts to promote education of women and girls. Partnering with NRC on this year’s reunion are Back Home Productions, Big A Entertainment, Big Moose Entertainment, Chris Glory, Danick Productions, Jaguda, KDK Events, LG Events Co., NotjustOK, Raging Bull and Under Da Rock. This year’s Annual Nigerian Arts, Culture and Music Festival theme is, “One Nigeria: Past Memories, Present Missions, Future Progress!”
Attendees will have the opportunity to network and dialog with many of Nigeria’s young and progressive movers and shakers. Two major highlights will be the Nigerian Image Awards, honoring the achievements of extraordinary people of Nigerian descent in music, arts, service, education and other walks of life. And the Rippin the Runway: Afro-Fusion Fashion Show, highlighting the unique artistic worlds of fashion, music, and African culture. “This four-day event will help further define who we are, what we have accomplished professionally and personally, while focusing on the vast opportunities that Nigeria offers,” said Segun Adeyina, NRC president. “We hope to bring more attention to the #bringbackourgirls campaign, while also educating the world about the significance of Nigeria and its Diaspora. Other highlights of “The Festival” will include an electrifying concert-featuring one of Nigeria’s Mega Artist “Iyanya aka The Kukere Master”; Nigerian Empowerment Symposium; Comedy Show-featuring one of Nigeria’s best and funniest comedians “BasketMouth”; Family Picnic/Festival; Speed Dating; Mind of a Nigerian; and Night Receptions.” “The Festival” will also feature a daily morning workout boot camp (Staying Fly and Fit Boot Camp) and a special time for spiritual reflection and connection. Formed in 1997, NRC’s primary purpose is to promote and strengthen the image and unity of Nigeria and the Nigerian Diaspora. Past reunions have been held in Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
