| RUGGED MAN |
Attendance was poor from what we saw at the petition ground at National Stadium Surulere, on July 20th, period!!! We later
gathered that just about 250 or so, signed petitions for our Nigerian
Government not to approve girls under aged marriage in Nigeria. To be candid
with the nation, we don’t think
all the Nigerians advocating for the girl child
not to be married off at an early age, for money gains. From what we saw at
national stadium Surulere Lagos, which is supposed to have more people coming
to sign their petitions, because it’s a stadium well position and located at a
very crowded environment. So, we think most Nigerians are doing what we call in
Nigeria ‘follow follow’, meaning an act of eye service. In fact we now believe
that all the shouts and cry on social network is just for others to feel that
they are concerned but in the real sense, NOBODY REALLY CARES. If Nigerians
really cared, they would have come out in masses to sign the petition for the
bill that girl under aged marriage, should not be approved in Nigeria.
Most sat back at homes making internet noise, lots of Nigerians
where in the stadium doing sports, but never came close to the petition table
to help support the #childnotbride# scheme. The only entertainment star ‘we’
saw was RUGGED MAN, upon Surulere parades lots of Nigerian stars; we most say
RUGGEDYBABA was the biggest star that humbly came all the way from Festac to
support the girl child at Surulere!!! Well, the most important thing is we saw gallant
men and women who still gave their support that day. And as long as these few
say NO, there is hope for the girl child in Nigeria. Please Nigerians we advice you keep it real,
and be from Neck ups not Waist downs!! Check ya Nose.
